Environmental policy in compliance with FSC and PEFC certification standards

Poplar along the rivers OglioPanguaneta believes that the care of the environment is a value to be constantly pursued, fully aware of the increasing attention of the community to environmental problems and sustainable development. With the environmental policy stated in this document, Panguaneta intends to show its commitment to the environment and define a guide to implement and improve its environmental management system.

Therefore, Panguaneta is aware of the fact that its activities, products and services produce effects that may interfere with the natural ecological balance and regards the environment safeguard as a strategic objective to be constantly pursued in carrying out its activities.

    1. the compliance with and the constant observance of applicable provisions of law;
    2. the constant improvement of its environmental performance and the prevention of pollution.

      In order to achieve these objectives, Panguaneta intends to act as follows:

      • supporting the conservation of natural resources through actions aimed at an effective and efficient use of energy;
      • undertaking to comply with the FSC and PEFC certification standards, avoiding the use of wood belonging to the following categories:
        • wood harvested from forest areas where traditions or civil rights are violated;
        • wood harvested from non-FSC certified forest areas where high conservation values are threatened;
        • wood harvested from genetically modified (GM) trees;
        • wood illegally harvested;
        • wood harvested from natural forests which have been converted into plantations or non-forest uses
      • limiting the production of waste and optimizing its management;
      • ensuring that all staff is aware of, responsible for and taking part in the company efforts related to the management of the environmental aspects of the activities carried out;
      • providing the company with the resources necessary to prevent environmental emergencies;
      • reducing environmental impacts through constant technological innovation.
