Panguaneta included in the 2021 GreenItaly report

Panguaneta was included in 2021 GreenItaly, the twelfth edition of the report drawn up by Symbola Foundation and Unioncamere to take stock of the situation of green economy in Italy. This year, the main theme was “People-oriented economy for the future of Europe”.

Panguaneta was mentioned in the Home and Furniture section, with special reference to the verification of the benefits deriving from the responsible management of the activities with its Rosa Anna and Rosa Luigia farm, the first large poplar processing companies that has obtained this recognition.

Based on the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) international certification procedure, the management impacts on four important factors were assessed, such as: the preservation of biodiversity, the storage of CO2, the reduction of soil erosion and the improvement of the landscape. This is the result also of the agreement that Panguaneta has signed with the Oglio Sud Regional Park for the management of 20 hectares of woods in the floodplain areas at the confluence of the Oglio and Po rivers, signed with the aim of meeting the FSC® sustainable forest management requirements, including the allocation of at least 10% of the managed area to natural areas and biodiversity conservation programs.

Some statistical data of the management benefits: 37 hectares dedicated to the safeguard of biodiversity, equal to almost 61 soccer fields; 1,866 tons of stored CO2, corresponding to the annual emissions of 145 Italian families; 123 tons of soil protected from erosion, a weight comparable to 45 African elephants; 352 hectares enhanced for tourist-recreational and landscape purposes.
