Nicoletta Azzi, CEO of Panguaneta and President of Assopannelli FederlegnoArredo, participated last 7 June 2019 in a conference called "La pioppicoltura italiana: situazione attuale e prospettive (The poplar cultivation in Italy: present situation and future prospects)".
Those who visited Friuli Venezia Giulia region have surely noticed the impressive cultivation of the poplars along the main roads.
Thanks to their regular arrangement and their geometric beauty, poplars are a peculiar element of our region and are also a crucial resource for one of the main regional supply chains: the wood-furniture industry. In fact, poplars are a highly demanded raw material for the production of multi-layer panels, the core of many products from indoor to naval and automotive furniture, among others.
The Friulian poplar stands out for its high quality. The proximity to the territory and the passion for wood urge the association to promote the creation of round tables for the monitoring and development of new strategies for poplar cultivation with the purpose of further enhancing the growth of the wood supply chain.
