The supply chain plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the poplar resource in Italy, which is important both from a landscape and an environmental perspective for the capture of CO₂ during the plant's growth phases and in the wooden product itself.

Following the example of the poplar supply chain, Nicoletta Azzi explained the objective of Cluster Italia Foresta Legno: to revitalize the wood system in Italy, to renew the various supply chains, and to promote a responsible management of the Italian forest heritage with the common aim of forest preservation.
