Panguaneta participates in Palm Academy event on sustainable forest management

On Friday, March 8th, Panguaneta took part in the event organized by PALM Academy focusing on the theme "Deforestation and Supply Chain: Sustainable and Regenerative Strategies". The discussion featured contributions from Miriam Tenca, CEO of Panguaneta, and Nicoletta Azzi, CEO of Panguaneta and vice-president of Cluster Italia Foresta Legno.

PALM Academy is an initiative promoted by Palm Spa, a company specializing in the production of wooden pallets. The objective is to explain and share the culture of sustainability, Circular Economy, and ESG criteria, as required by the new European Directives.

The meeting provided professionals, entrepreneurs, businesspeople and young students, an opportunity to outline a new sustainable and regenerative business model based on creating relationships and connections. On June 29, 2023, the European Deforestation-free products Regulation (EUDR) came into force, emphasizing the social responsibility of each component of the supply chain In the context of the fight against deforestation.

Panguaneta provided its testimony as a company that passionately lives its environmental mission. Nicoletta Azzi explained how the company supports and enhances a sustainable virtuous cycle, starting from locally sourced raw materials.
Miriam Tenca described the story of the bond between Panguaneta and poplar, a tale of resilience and trust. If poplar is recognized worldwide as an Italian excellence today, it's thanks to the know-how developed in cultivation and wood-processing.

The supply chain plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the poplar resource in Italy, which is important both from a landscape and an environmental perspective for the capture of CO2 during the plant's growth phases and in the wooden product itself.

Following the example of the poplar supply chain, Nicoletta Azzi explained the objective of Cluster Italia Foresta Legno: to revitalize the wood system in Italy, to renew the various supply chains, and to promote a responsible management of the Italian forest heritage with the common aim of forest preservation.
