PANGUA PANKA: PANGUANETA TELLS THE STORY OF ITALIAN POPLAR PLYWOOD AT BRERA DESIGN WEEK 2023

Poplar is (already) the future. This valuable raw material and its short supply chain tell their story at Brera Design Week 2023 with Pangua Panka, two benches made by Panguaneta using Italian poplar plywood.
The installations trace the path of Panguaneta towards Carbon Neutrality.

“Poplar plywood means value and future for the territory” Miriam Tenca, AD of Panguaneta, says. “It means circular economy, preservation of biodiversity through responsible cultivation, contribution to the absorption of CO2, new job opportunities and support to the unique local supply chain. The increasingly hard challenges of our time require greater responsibility and the awareness that we must necessarily build a positive relationship with natural resources and learn how to manage them in the best possible way. For centuries, poplars have been closely linked to our river ecosystem, and still play a key ecological role: we need to treasure this resource and make it grow thanks to technological innovation and sustainable management, learning how to do people- and eco-friendly business.”

From 17th to 23rd April, the benches will be situated in Corso Garibaldi 112 at the corner of via Marsala, and in Corso Garibaldi 99, in the heart of the Brera district: an opportunity to take a break and discover the characteristics of poplar and its important role for the environment towards a more sustainable future.
