The Arca-Theatre is the outcome of an intensive design-and-build workshop that guided students from concept to construction. The result is a hybrid stage-shelter: a symbolic vessel carrying the great figures of architecture through the challenges of change as it travels across Mantua’s lakes.
For its structure, Politecnico di Milano selected Panguaneta Tutto Pioppo plywood, chosen for its lightness, versatility and ease of processing. Beyond its technical performance, the material reflects the identity of the region—its natural resources, craftsmanship and the enduring dialogue between tradition, creativity and innovation.
For Panguaneta, this initiative marks the beginning of a forward-looking collaboration that strengthens the connection between industry, academia and local communities, while opening promising avenues for future projects linked to Sabbioneta and its role within the Wood District.
