Panguaneta named technical sponsor at the inauguration of the “Sonnabend Collection Mantova”

Panguaneta is proud to serve as technical sponsor for the creation of the new Sonnabend Collection Mantova museum, housed within the historic Palazzo della Ragione. This extraordinary project celebrates the modern art collection of Ileana Sonnabend. Curated and managed by Marsilio Arte, the initiative will establish a new permanent contemporary art museum, inaugurated in Mantua on 28 November 2025 and set to remain open until November 2037.

Thanks to the legacy of visionary collector Ileana Sonnabend, Mantua offers its local, national, and international communities an unprecedented artistic and cultural experience.
Across the eleven exhibition halls of Palazzo della Ragione, 94 seminal works by leading figures of 20th-century art will find their home: from Andy Warhol to Jeff Koons, from Michelangelo Pistoletto to Jannis Kounellis, from Jasper Johns to Mario Merz. The museum will be directed by Mario Codognato, under the supervision of Antonio Homem, president of the Sonnabend Foundation and adopted son of Ileana Sonnabend.

As part of Panguaneta’s broader commitment to initiatives that enhance the region’s economic, social, and cultural vitality, the company contributed to the project by supplying the materials required for the bookshop furnishings.

“We are proud to be part of this outstanding cultural initiative,” says Nicoletta Azzi, CEO of Panguaneta, “which brings together historical heritage and modern art while highlighting our ongoing pursuit of ever more reliable and high-performance premium solutions. Working alongside designers and project teams who explore the full expressive potential of our products is always an inspiring and rewarding experience”.

The furnishings were designed and produced by architect Federico Fedel and Unostudio Architetti Associati, who had previously partnered with Panguaneta for the installation of “7 1/2,” the recent exhibition by internationally acclaimed photographer Juergen Teller in Sabbioneta. For this project they have selected panels from the Tutto Okoumé and Okoumé Twin ranges—premium products known for their exceptional durability and beautifully warm tones. The result is an elegant, enduring installation designed to harmonise with the historic setting and enhance the visitor experience.

The Sonnabend Collection Mantova aims to become a prestigious and enduring cultural hub, enriched by a programme of exhibitions, exclusive events, educational activities, and private tours. As a contributor to its creation, Panguaneta places its know-how at the service of the community, helping give rise to a new landmark for contemporary art in Italy.
