Panguaneta unveils the photographic book “RADICI” at the Populous Festival in Sabbioneta

Roots of the poplar trees that continue to define the landscape of the Po Valley. Roots of a family and a company that, for more than 65 years, have been devoted to working this precious wood with dedication and passion. It is no coincidence that “Radici” (the Italian word for Roots) is the title Panguaneta chose for the photographic book created to mark the company’s 65th anniversary and unveiled during the Populus Festival in Sabbioneta.

The event, held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March, was organised by the Associazione Terreoltre, with the support of Panguaneta S.p.A. and BCC di Rivarolo Mantovano, and under the patronage of Touring Club Italiano, the Municipality of Sabbioneta and the Fondazione Sabbioneta Heritage.

During the presentation, Panguaneta’s CEO, Miriam Tenca, retraced the origins of the project, born from a dialogue with photographer Massimo Gorreri and from the desire to entrust images with narrating the roots not only of a tree, but of a culture that stretches back through generations. In turn, Massimo Gorreri highlighted the intrinsic value of poplar and its supply chain, emphasising that behind every finished product lies a process shaped by care and responsibility.

The day also featured the valuable contributions from Pier Mario Chiarabaglio of the C.R.E.A. Institute in Casale Monferrato and Fabrizio Malaggi, forestry expert at Parco Oglio Sud. Moderated by Touring Club Italiano journalist Tino Mantarro, their discussions explored the present and future of Italian poplar cultivation, underscoring the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders in the supply chain to safeguard environmental and territorial balance.

With RADICI, Panguaneta tells, through the art of photography, the story of a bond that becomes a commitment: to enhancing the local territory and promoting a sustainable production culture—one that looks confidently to the future while remaining firmly rooted in its origins.
